It wasn’t as sturdy as I would like, as the material wasn’t as heavy as I thought it would so we had to figure something out so it wouldn’t fall over. We ended up putting a half gallon milk jug filled with water in the bottom cupboard so it wouldn’t fall over. It worked as intended after that, but then a year into regular use it just fell apart. The screws had stripped over time and so we were unable to screw it back in. It is currently held up with duct tape. It works, but not a long term solution.

I can’t believe that we have arrived at this moment in time where something this unbelievably crappy is even available for sale, especially at this price point. This is something that should be sold for $4 at the Dollar Store. I put it together with baffled amusement, for pure entertainment value. Do yourself a favour and avoid this…it has no redeeming qualities other than the fact that it actually holds some toilet paper.

I bought the 30″ H Pro Rod (Blk/Bamboo). I only gave 3 stars for assembly due to my age and health at time of arrival to assemble it (had no one to help me) but overall happy with the results. Able to store my personal items & toilet paper in lower section behind the door. The unit sits right across from the toilet – perfect place and the toilet paper holder is so easy to remove for replacing the roll. Adds a bright & pleasing aesthetic affect to my bathroom. Very happy with my purchase.

I was seeking a solution that not only aids in the organization of toilet paper but also provides storage without occupying excessive space. This product fulfilled my requirements. The assembly process was straightforward, and it fits perfectly in the limited area of my bathroom. Although the material used in its construction is slightly odd, its overall functionality is satisfactory.

I don’t love that this is made of PVC, but it was inexpensive, the right size and shape for our tiny awkward bathroom, and can handle the mega-rolls of toilet paper which the old porcelain mortared-on TP holder can’t. It also takes care of the extra roll storage dilemma. It also shipped small and light, so if I hadn’t been able to put it together immediately it wouldn’t have taken up too much room. I like that it can hang on a wall and might end up doing that if I decide to chip off the porcelain one. It went together easily and it’s sturdy enough for its stated purpose. If handled with reasonable care it shouldn’t be hard to keep it out of the landfill, and if I end up not needing it (hoping to remodel soon) I can pass it along for further use.
Be patient and don’t use too much force to push it together (skip the hammers!), or excessive force with the screws. When the jigsaw-like joints are important to stability you don’t want to over-work them putting it together hastily. For this reason I suspect it would not be as sturdy if disassembled and reassembled but it’s so small I can’t imagine why you would need to. I have arthritis in my hands so I was worried I might need to get the hammer out but I was able to gently wiggle and press things together without a struggle sitting at the dining room table. I did use my cordless drill for the screws, but used the lowest setting and went slowly. I stopped when the screw head was just barely recessed so it would look smooth but not strain the parts or strip the screws. There were a few extra screws included, along with a tiny Phillips head screwdriver, which was nice.
I was worried I might have to do extra work to reverse the door, since I wanted the knob on the right and not the left as in the product picture. But all I had to do was start with the opposite side from what is shown in the instructions and flip things in my head–a little bit of a challenge but I double-checked things as I went and didn’t have to un-snap anything. Do read through the instructions before starting, and you might want to hold the parts up to visualize before attaching if you want to do the door reversal trick like I did.

Light and just perfect for my bathroom. It’s not super sturdy but in all fairness it’s holding toilet paper, a small flower and candle. I had the metal one prior but I like that now it has covered storage. My toilet paper is not collecting dust or whatever! lol, just adorable and love it!
