For the price this mister is great! Arrived quickly and was packaged neatly. The splash guard is a little flimsy and doesn’t like to stay in one piece but once you get it put on it stays in place, and trust me you want the splash guard on because you’ll have a soaking wet mess without it! It produces a good amount of mist in a 12” bowl. The LED lights are surprisingly bright but the color transitions could be a bit better. Overall it’s super easy to setup and use. I didn’t need the instructions. You’re supposed to use distilled water or add a bit of table salt to the water but so far it’s working perfectly with tap water (well water). Definitely recommend!

Great, affordable mist maker for Halloween. Looked fantastic on the night. Without the splash guard you get way more mist with a fantastic billowing effect, but you also get a lot of water thrown around, which is fine if you’ve got it outside. With the splash guard there’s fewer mist tendrils. There’s still some droplets that get thrown out when using the splash guard, it doesn’t stop it completely, but you can see from the images and video that they are vastly reduced.
When it first arrived, it did cut out when it fell over in the cauldron. Removing it and placing it back in the water resolved the issue. On the night it also cut out but it had not fallen over and the water level was still plenty high enough, so I don’t know what caused the issue. Removing and placing it back in the water resolved the issue once again though. It’s perhaps not the most robust thing in light of this. Hopefully it’s not a faulty one. So far so good, but only time will tell.

This is the only one of these I’ve ever bought, so I can’t compare it to other brands. I suspect they’re all about the same. If you’re expecting a lot of mist, you’re going to be disappointed. It’s only a moderate amount. It’s not a fog machine. For my needs it’s sufficient; I’m using it to make a little special effect in the chemistry section of my mad scientist’s laboratory-themed man cave. I was hoping the mist would at least come out of the top of the flask, but it’s still pretty cool. The light pattern can’t be adjusted, it just does what it does. A lot of reviews complain about this. They also complain about how much water splashes out; the area around the effect becomes very wet. It’s not that it splashes; it disturbs the water very little with a gentle bubbling. It’s that mist is, by definition, wet. The little plastic splash guard works pretty well but the area around it is still going to get wet. All in all it’s a pretty cool effect. I bet it’d look cool in a Jack-o’lantern. The price is about right.

Bought this in 2020 but forgot to get a video! I was looking for something to be able to create a cauldron for Halloween and after researching this seemed to tick all boxes as reading reviews a guard was advised with a mist maker to prevent splashing. As you can see it works a treat! I popped a small ceramic pot underneath the mist maker as the cauldron I bought separately was a little deep and the mist wasn’t quite flowing over the top of the cauldron but the ceramic pot gave me the height needed to overcome this. This is the second year using this and it really works well! Highly recommend this product!

Worked great at a kids’ Halloween party for our witch’s brew punch. I wasn’t keen on it actually being in the punch, so I bought a small candy dish in the wedding prep aisle at a big box store and clipped it to the inside of the punch bowl, put the mist maker and some water in there, and it worked out fine. (punch = rainbow sherbet and sierra mist – simple, tasty, and kinda frothy looking, so it goes along with the misting action)
I’m glad someone in a review for a different mister pointed to this one with the splash guard. It still sent a few drops here and there; I imagine a lot more water gets shot around without the guard.
Like other reviews have said, it’s effective but gives a limited amount of mist. Buy 2 if you’re in doubt it will be enough.
It’s great for the money you spend, and you don’t have to buy special chemicals to run it. I give it a Siskel & Ebert rating of two thumbs up.

I was sceptical at first because the reviews made this little machine sound like a delicate “barley touch it and it’s broken” kind of deal but honestly it’s not. Sure the little dome part has the potential to be broken but if your taking your time and not being crazy it’s super easy and practically self explanatory. The presentation of this thing is so awesome, and when you have the proper water level this thing can pump out “smoke” like no bodies business. I used it in a pumpkin and boy did it raise my entertainment value on Halloween. In my video I try and show you how the little thing functions in different water levels. Too little and it blinks red; completely not working. A little bit of water: the lights start working and it’ll pump out a little bit of smoke. A medium amount of water gives an average amount of smoke. Acceptable large amount of water (where it’s submerged) will pump out alot of smoke. Too much water and you won’t have smoke at all. It’s all about balance. I will say without the done this thing does pump out more smoke on medium amounts of water but it will throw the water everywhere. It made me laugh seeing it throw water out of the tuperware I first tried it out in. Over all its a good buy and the lights are rather strong. I can see the point of it being in a pond from the sheer range the water can get when it’s being shot up into the air. But if you use the dome and an appropriate container this little buy can be used anywhere. I highly recommend to the point I’m buying another next Halloween and making a cauldron to put them in.

This was not an aquarium, but my beautiful glass bowl. It cracked it in the first 10 minutes.
Very disappointed. The instructions only say not recommended for aquariums.

I bought this to put in a plastic cauldron to create fog for a witchy cauldron as seen on TikTok. It worked perfectly, actually better than I thought it would. I love how it changes colors. I highly recommend it.
