The ink pads came in great condition from shipping.
    >If you do not plan on using right away be sure to house them somewhere that they are not being smashed with any weight. The ink on the pads will smudge off onto the plastic holder if contact is made.

The clips you receive to hold the corners down really help ensure the card stock will not move when you press down. This really means that any smudging comes from your movements with the hand or foot. A slow directly straight down push into the pad works best. Make sure you do this exercise on a flat hard surface.

For a dog, try having them stand in a natural stance and find where their paw wants to be on the ground. Lift the paw you want to get a print of and place the ink pad/ card set up directly where their paw was settled. Guide their paw back down onto the pad and take your time trying to hit the center of the card as best as possible. Obviously, this works best if your dog is calm and not hyper or bothered by you manipulating their leg. If you pet is too anxious try doing these prints as they sleep. You might be able to work with them better that way.

Just a suggestion: if you want your furbabies prints consider doing it when they are healthy and happy. Many times people wait until their beloved pet is gone and the print becomes a difficult reminder of loss rather than a joyful connection to a beautiful memory created.

Another tip: if you have your frubaby as a kitten or puppy consider making a card that has their baby print and either save that card or use new ones after they fully grow and make adult prints. You could create a really lovely collage showing your babies growth. Consider doing the baby in one color and the adult in another if using the same card.

For cats, you may be able to get all 4 paws on one card if you picked corners or made them look like they are walking across the card.

You could use the ink pad to create a direct print to other items than the card stock. Directly place a print on you to have it be the template for a tattoo, add it to a picture frame, onto glass, etc. Add a little clear coat to protect it.

Could you add another layer of ink in the colors you want? I’m not sure, but the idea has crossed my mind to try.

Very easy to use! Was able to use the cards twice each. And created quality prints for my newborn!

Getting baby to sit still is another story – but they work great and no mess. I wish the ink area was a little bigger. Even with a 1 month old if you don’t sim perfect in the middle some fingers went off the sides messing up the print.

This ink kit is perfect for getting your little one’s handprints and footprints. It came with four ink pads and eight sheets, and how it works is you put the ink pad against the sheet and press your baby’s hand against the back of the pad so it transfers ink onto the paper without getting your little one’s hands inky. It does take coordination though, lol, so give yourself some grace with the first go. I was able to get four tries out of one ink pad. Straightforward and sweet 🙂

Very light weight and super easy to use. No mess involved and good value for money. Would make a great gift also.

I bought this product because it is original. But it’s a fake product. It is clear from the quality of the product that it is a counterfeit product. I was not satisfied at all. A fake and copy product.

My daughters cat is getting up in age and I wanted to get some prints while I could. I went to do the print, stuck her paw on it nice and firm, the black film stuck to the paper and when I pulled the paper off to view the result….. …… ….. nothing… I mean absolutely nothing. No marks- nothing. Like it hadn’t been touched. So I checked and I was doing it the correct side but still nothing…

I willed myself to touch the ink side of the film, knowing full well I would be marked for the day. I pulled my finger away form the film to view the result….. …… ….. nothing… I mean absolutely nothing. I KNOW, RIGHT?!?

Ok, so maybe that one dried up… got the second one, started the process over.. went to view the result….. …… ….. nothing… I mean absolutely nothing.

Well, *giving the benefit of the doubt* maybe I’m doing it wrong… maybe there’s a protective film on the ink side… maybe… maybe… so the third one is pulled out… with a new resolve and a small plea, the process is again started again. This time with a fairly annoyed elderly (VERY vocal) feline. Press her paw firmly, the film sticks to the paper, pull the paper away to view the result….. …… ….. nothing… I mean absolutely nothing AGAIN!!

At this point I release my captive ball of claws and go to check the fourth and final film which was- yup, you guessed it- yet again dry.

Amazon is sending a replacement, and I shall continue this tale when it has arrived and the elusive feline reappears from her hiding spot.

Until then.. zero stars for zero ink!

Worked perfectly to take paw prints of our dog.

Très difficile à utiliser avec un bébé. Il faut avoir la pression exacte. Presque impossible à faire avec un bébé. Le résultat à l’air d’une grosse tache. Très déçue.

Wonderful idea. Does not dry well

The kit works great for a mess free way to get your babies/pets prints. Unfortunately it doesn’t ever dry. I’m hesitant to put mine in a picture frame until it’s fully dry, but it’s been a few months and it’s only almost dry. You definitely have to be careful not to smudge it afterwards, so I’d suggest giving it a few weeks before really messing with it. Otherwise it works great
