I purchased this product to use on our dog who was a Newfoundland and his paws were the size of an adult hand so I needed to get the largest one possible. The size was perfect but I was sorely disappointed when it didn’t work as expected. First off the product showed up in an envelope that did not protect it from pressure, the ink pad had pressed against the plastic case it came in and had already applied part of the ink. I purchased this product thinking it would be easier and cleaner than using an ink pad but I wish I would have just used an ink pad, it would have made a nice print.
I didn’t have time to send it back as my dog was not going to be with us much longer. So I tried to use it but the amount of pressure required to actually get a clean print was impossible. Short of laying it on the ground in his walking path and making him stop long enough to put his full body weight on it (130lbs), I could not get his foot to press hard enough onto the product laying on sheet of paper to get any type of clear print, I even tried to press on his foot while he stood so 130+lbs of pressure. I am heart broken now that I don’t have any print of his at all. After I had used it once there wasn’t much ink left anywhere on it, I put one of my fingers on the ink and pressed my finger on a sheet of paper and it worked. Long story short, just use an ink pad and a sheet of paper at least then you would have multiple chances to get a perfect print.

I bought the XL ink pad since I figured it’d be easier to get a great print versus the multi-pack smaller pad kits (which I also have). This XL ink pad outputs far less than the smaller kits out there, and I find the price point unreasonably high for the low print output on 1 ink pad. The first print is extremely dark, uses most ink, and then prints get lighter and lighter, not giving a uniform look on 4 prints. I have to buy more ink to keep at the right print look I’m going for on 2 feet and 2 hands.

I ordered the standard size one for my 4 doggies paws prints to be placed on my husband’s father’s day card. The standard size was just big enough. If you are using it for your child’s hand/foot I would say the standard size would be good for newborns up to like 6 months. Loved that it was indeed clean to use!

I love the fact that I was able to do this without having to smear ink or paint on my baby’s hand. That being said, this is better for a baby who is still in the sleepy stage or a child who can understand what you are doing and listen. My 8 month old who grabs everything, not so much. I did hand and foot on a Father’s Day card, and a book that is a gift. The first foot I did okay with, but pushed a smidge too hard. I tried to press lighter with the hand, but then of course, she is very grabby and didn’t really want to participate. So then I did the book and I forgot about putting the book on a flat surface and put it on the bed, so that’s why it’s a little less complete, and she pulled away, so it smeared. Then the hand, still on the bed and she grabbed the ink pad and pulled away. Smearing the ink and ruining the ink pad. I probably could have done a few more prints if she hadn’t destroyed it, and definitely had I not pushed so hard on the first print.
Overall, I like the product, it’s just hard with my baby’s age. And I do like the results. Not perfect, but there is no perfect with a baby.

I purchased this as my senior cat was at his end of life stage and I wanted to save his paw print. He was my baby and losing him was extremely hard for me. This helped me to save a moments of my baby. I didn’t get as clear with him as his brother only because he was bed ridden and I didn’t want to because him too much discomfort by turning his paw. His brother walked on it and his came out clearer. I also got my thumbprint perfectly. It didn’t leave a residue on any of our fingers or paws. I will repurchase for my other boys.

These are so perfect for baby, toddler, kids, pets. Make sure you pay attention to the size you’re getting. The small ones are good for babies but for my 2 year old now I get the extra large ones. But they are so easy to use with no clean up at all.

This pad is incredibly easy to use, but really only good for one use. The second use will have a shadow of the first present. For instance, if you use it on your baby’s hand, then on her foot, the foot print will have the outline of her hand in it.
But the worst part is that it won’t dry. Its been over two months, and I can still smudge the prints with my dry finger. I’ve left the page in her baby book open, next to a heat vent for most of that time. I’m hoping it will dry eventually. But if not, I’m going to put packing tape over the page.
We were also able to do a print of her older brother’s hand, next to hers in the baby book, so we can look back and see how much bigger than her he was. Super cute. There is plenty of ink in this pad. I don’t know why that shadow effect occurs.

I got this because it stated extra large. It is not at all. It’s more like medium. If you have a medium sized dog paw, sure it’ll fit. However it doesn’t fit my Great Pyrenees/ St. Bernard’s dog paw.
