good opening size and cuts limbs well. Sturdy construction

Need to cut through some big stuff? Are you hard on your tools? Then you might want to consider this Fiskar Lopper. It’s sharp blade made short work of the vines and small tree growth I used it on. It’s solidly made and it is heavy. Your arms will feel the work out if you are using them for any length of time.
It’s a real heavy duty tool and it comes with a lifetime warranty which gives me some comfort as it was not inexpensive, but reasonable considering the quality of the construction.
The only thing I found as a negative is that you have to open the handles a lot to maximize the opening of the throat of the cutter. This is not easy when you are cutting anything above waist level and difficult when you are trying to cut something overhead. Again, it works great, but you need to be in shape to use this, particularly your arms and upper body. It does have a great reach at 32″ and it looks like it could out live me…

This product was used almost daily by an Appalachian Trail ridgerunner in their job helping to care for the trail. He reports back that it performed well consistently and how happy he was with it. He carried it daily along with sleeping bag, shelter, stove, food, first aid kit, other trail tools and water. It was durable, sharp, easy to use and a good value.

I used these for the first time today to cut up a large oak branch and they worked beautifully, better than expected. I cut through 1 1/4 inch branches with ease and was impressed with their strength and with the amount of leverage the handles place on the blade. This is likely too much tool for most homeowners, but it will serve well those homeowners who do choose it, and would be essential for those with rural properties and ranchers where cutting up branches is a frequent task.

Easy to use, very heavy-duty, and makes quick work of cutting branches down to size.

    Highly recommended.

The powergear is the best lopper I have used, and I have tried many.

  8. Sharon Brink

Easier to use on small branches than the long lopper

Excellent loppers. Cut through pretty thick branches with ease. Great price. Very durable and easy to use.

This type of gear power is cutting like a charm. Blades do not bend. Also, at 18 inches it is very light, my wife prefers this one. This is my fourth Friskars gear power, 3 different sizes and a replacement for the old 18 inches.

I’ve got clippers and a sawzall but needed something in between. It’s those vines and branches that are about an inch thick in hard to reach places where this shines. Just the right length but you do need to open the handles all the way because of the curve of the blade. The mechanism puts real pressure on the branch and lops it off without issue and a nice clean cut. I have a few acres with a mix of trees, shubs and those pesky thorn bushes so this thing gets used all the time. Heavy duty but not overly heavy to use. I’m so happy with these. I expect these to last a long time before they are going to need sharpening as well.

I have a lilac bush had become quite unruly and needed a trim STAT. I have various cutting tools, but none of them would work on the thick branches of that darn lilac bush. I finally bit the bullet and bought these awesome cutters! They are GREAT!

Not only did it cut the thick branches with ease, it is light enough that my hands & shoulders didn’t hurt!

I picked Fiskars because I have a lot of their other gardening tools and they’re always good quality and worth the money, and they proved it once again. I’m sure there are cheaper options, but they won’t last as long as these.

This is a must have tool if you do any gardening, landscaping, or just work in your yard. They’ll cut almost anything and last a long time. I had a pair for over 20 years and they finally wore out. One of my grandsons fixed them and he’s now using them. I recommend the larger pair so you can reach higher.
