DO NOT go by GSMs here.

Used to chop and change towels all the time. All that has stopped since I started using these. Have ordered these towels repeatedly now.

    1) The dimensions are huge. There is a debate on whether this is a bath towel / bath sheet. Ignore that debate. The towel does what you want it to do, which is to make you dry.

    2) And it is par excellence when it comes to drying you. The water absorbency is phenomenal. And it is genuinely usable from both sides. Most towels I’ve used get become unusable from the other side after one side gets soaked from use. Not this one.

I like white towels, and haven’t ordered the Solimo towels because they are never available in white. But I’ve used most of the other towels that are rated 4+ on Amazon and these are by far the best.

These towels are good quality; they are not ‘luxury’/high quality, but definitely better than low quality/economy towels. They were packaged well, in a plastic bag inside a corrugated box. There was a new material type smell to the towels, but after the first wash before use (which the instructions say to do), that smell was 100% gone, leaving them perfect. They are well made, the hemming on the ends and sides is solid, and no threads/hemming has come undone in the time I’ve had them and it doesn’t look like that will be an issue at all. These are made in India. I can’t say why they chose the name ‘Quick-Dry’, as that usually indicates something that, when hanging in air, dries itself more quickly than normal; that is not the case at all with these towels, but the do work better when used to dry something.

Comparing the Quick-Dry vs the Regular version (both AmazonBasics, both same size hand towels):

    Quick Dry:
    – Extremely soft, more than typical, very nice feel to them
    – Dries hands more quickly/easily, soaks up any water it touches instantly, makes better contact with skin
    – Wet towel does not dry any quicker than a regular towel, it dries about the same
    – Has a texture with a look and feel more like very short fur
    – Ideal (and preferred by me) for drying anything that is wet (from hands, to a wet counter)
    – Not the best for using as a washcloth (like if you want a big soaked cloth to use to wash your counter/floor)
    – Made in India

    Regular:
    – Typical soft cotton towel feel
    – Dries hands like typical towels, not quite as quick to absorb as the quick-dry
    – Wet towel dries normally
    – Has the typical cotton towel loop texture, course but not rough at all
    – Great for drying anything that is wet (from hands, to a wet counter), but the quick-dry works even better
    – Ideal for using as a large washcloth (like if you want a big soaked cloth to use to wash a counter/floor
    – Made in India

In comparing the two types, it looks like they are both made exactly the same way, perhaps by the same company/factory, using different material, so the only difference is just that, the material.

    Recommendation:
Both are nice towels, but when used to dry something wet (hands, body, counters), the Quick-Dry is definitely better, and by far the better choice for many reasons. I definitely recommend them.

Interestingly, it is quite the opposite if they are used as washcloths, when both are soaking wet and used to wash/scrub something, the Regular is definitely better for that alternate use.

A while back, (May 2019) I purchased three different brands of washcloths trying to find the “best” for me. These from Amazon were the cheapest and, not surprisingly, they are thinner and lighter weight than the others. For reference, the mid-priced cloths are 650 gsm while the most expensive are 900 gsm. I don’t know what the gsm for these would be, but I feel confident saying it is most likely 500 or less.

The only thing I really disliked was the tags they put on them, so those came off immediately after I washed them. I cut a slit close to the seam where they were attached, then ripped off the tag while pressing down firmly on the seam with the other hand to prevent breaking the thread. They’ve been washed dozens of times now and there has been no fraying or unraveling of the side seams. There has also been no breaking of the loops that make up the washcloths. There isn’t a single thread dangling on any of them.

I discovered I like these best for washing my face. Like all our towels, I wash in HOT water with regular detergent and NO FABRIC SOFTNER yet they’ve remained softer in texture than any of the others. Being thinner, they are easier to rinse and wring out and they dry rapidly. Even after air drying, they aren’t stiff when I collect them to place in the laundry basket for laundering. That’s something I’ve not experienced before. For me, the mid-weight work best when bathing and the super-premium are simply too thick and heavy for me when they get wet. They do well absorbing lots of water for drying, but that is what towels are for so they rarely get used. I also don’t care for the patterned band on those because it reduces the “useful” area of the washcloth. So, that’s what works for me- I hope this helps you decide what might be best for you.

I hate thick towels that take forever to dry. I hate towels with wide decorative bands even more. I often end up buying beach towels because they are lightweight and have no decorative banding, just a plain old hem. We just remodeled our bathroom so I thought I would get some new towels. I looked at several brands and was willing to spend some money, but none of the higher end towels were what I was looking for. The Amazon towels looked like they checked all the boxes so I took a gamble. Glad I did because so far I love them. They are just on the edge of being too fluffy for me, but not so much that the next day they are still wet after hanging. They are the design of a beach towel, but have the look and feel of a bath towel. I have been using them for about six weeks and they have washed great. I’m buying more.

I usually am happy with the quality for the price of Amazon Basics. I hope they never cheap out.

Price is attractive. After first wash, a substantial amount of material was left in the lint trap of the dryer and on the other items in the dryer. They are soft after being washed.

  7. Fred Wolff

All towels will have lint at first, even higher end ones. Wash these at least once or twice by themselves or you will have a mess. After a few washes they are good. These are thinner towels, which I wanted. They are absorbent, the other reviews are wrong. Don’t use fabric softener, it leaves a film on laundry that inhibits absorbing. Pretty much as advertised.

I got these in “platinum” and these are very pretty but more tan/gray than I thought. Still keeping them anyway, because other than not being thrilled with the color, they are really well made towels and otherwise fit the description perfectly. And after all, a towel is a towel and screen image colors can vary from screen to screen.

I really like these towels in terms of size, softness, all that. I wish I could have taken maybe half a star or a third of a star off because “platinum” as the photo shows up on my screen isn’t the right match for the color that these are on arrival, which I would call “light gray-brown.” I thought they would be more blue-gray than tan/brown/gray . HOWEVER, per above, they are very good towels so I am not going to waste packaging, labor, gas etc. on a return. I still like them.

  9. Anette Hdz.

its quick absorb right from first use. not like those that need multiple washes to make them absorb water. material little thin so its water absorb capacity is little lower.

  10. Mares

Son amplias, suaves, secan bien y son de buena calidad, cumplen con las expectativas.

  11. Madison Heckman

I ordered these towels after finally having enough of paper thin towels from Walmart. These are perfectly fluffy and a great value for the price point.

  12. PennyPincher

These towels are so soft and nice. I went to visit my family and I was given them to use as I got home I ordered mine. They were out of stock but I eventually got them. They are cost-effective but good. I love them.

  13. D. Bless

Great hand towels for every day use. The thickness is on point and they are soft. I definitely recommend these hand towels. I bought these in white so I can’t respond to some claims that the color is off.
