I purchased this to accent my daughter’s bathroom. It is so pretty with my decor and flowers on it. It is very sturdy too. I love it.

This was such a great find. It was cheap for what it was but it does not look or feel cheap at all. I have a lot of books on this thing so it is very sturdy and I even caught my kids attempting to climb it once and it help up. Highly recommend you will not be disappointed. Also it was insanely easy to assemble.

This was received quickly, easy to assemble, and looks great. We got it to replace a square table. Now we get as much storage space but with a smaller footprint on the floor. It has good height to provide 5 shelves of storage. We got it mainly to neatly place wifi devices, some pictures, and art but might get another one to organize game consoles.

The Casual Home 5-Shelf Ladder Bookcase is a simple and attractive bookshelf that adds a delightful point of interest to a room while displaying books and other decorative items. The shelf is easy to assemble, has a nice sturdy feel to it, and has “steps” that are wide enough to hold many items. I was able to assemble the shelf by myself within an hour – it probably would’ve taken less time had I not been on the phone chatting – and once assembled, it looks simple but beautiful. I love how the wood feels sturdy and is evenly stained with no blemishes, dents, or dings in the wood, and how durable to shelf feels. It is free-standing, so it’s not necessary to lean up against the wall, and it comes with straps to attract it to a wall to avoid tippage or the chance of it falling over, which is great for people who live in earthquake country as I do. The color is as rich and pretty as it is in the stock photo and each shelf is durable enough to hold a good number of decor pieces and books. Overall, it’s a great shelf to consider if you are looking for a non-boxy-looking shelf to fill a small space.

I ordered two to go on the sides of my TV and initially was quite pleased. Assembly was quick and easy. It’s a little less sturdy than I would have liked, but I think that is just the way it goes with flat-pack furniture. I ended up not using them where I initially planned, mostly because of the visual impact; they aren’t very robust and don’t take up a lot of space aesthetically (which could be a bonus, depending on your decor!) and the color of the wood was less “espresso” and more plain black, unless the sun shone on it, then it looked dark purple.

Overall I’d say it’s a good buy; it’s a really usable piece of furniture for a low price! I decided to keep the shelves and just relocate them. One looks very nice holding guest blankets in lieu of a linen closet, and the other is holding up great despite being chock-full of heavy things in the laundry room.

I bought ten of these for all my books (lots and lots of books). I was hesitant given that some reviews complained about assembly and sturdiness. Overall, I think (after putting 10 together and having them for several weeks now, with all my books on them) that they are worth buying. The assembly is a little tricky the first time but the key is to use a different hex wrench than the one they provide. The main reason: theirs is made of cheap metal, and after using it on several bolts, the hex wrench begins to wear a bit and the edge of the hex dulls, making it possible to strip the hex bolt. So, I used my own hex wrench (which is made of stainless steel), and the problem was resolved.

I did not use the brackets they come with to attach the cases to the wall. Instead, the relatively sturdiness of the case along with five rows of books (i.e., a lot of weight) makes them stay put. And I don’t have kids who will climb them. If you have toddlers, or if you are only putting frames or vases on these, you may want to use the wall clips to ensure they don’t get pulled down accidentally by a kid climbing or pulling on them.

It was fairly easy to assemble, was not missing any pieces or parts, and looks great in my apartment. Colour was true to the photo and perfectly matched my desk. The top left side curves in ever so slightly (I think the wood is slightly defected) but it didn’t impact overall look or assembly.
