These lights give off a very warm blue glow when first set up with batteries. I have them lining the sides of one of the bookshelves in my living room. The thin wiring blends in well with the dark color of the shelf. Gives off a floating lights effect. Quite aesthetic. Now…the only downside to this item is: the battery drain! My goodness…after about 5-7 days, you’ll see that: the warm glow now begins to fade to just barely visible tiny blue dots. Now I only turn the lights on at night to perk up the living room, to give off a warm hue after hours. They are turned off during the daytime. These lights require 3 double AA’s. The power drain is an issue with even the better brand batteries too. So…just a heads up, before purchasing.

I needed a bright string of lights for a puppet stage. Not near and outlet, small children running around etc… a battery-powered unit was a good answer. This product is BRIGHT and easy to work. No fancy sequences or flashers, twinkles or chases -just lights. The switch is small so be aware that is is not robust like a diesel truck. The battery latch was stiff, took a small knife to lift the latch… once opened it works fine. It only does one thing – shine tiny lights – but it does that very well… Small tree? yep.. Small window? yep runs for days? nope unless you have a sack of AA batteries. So far they have lasted for more than an hour and are still going strong. So, hope this helps… nice product for the money.

Quality: I wanted bright lights for Halloween. They are very very bright. The small, tiny dot-like led lights that they’re made of wasn’t what I was expecting BUT that didn’t matter after I plugged them in and they LIT UP the house. I was blown away. And I says “yeah, this is perfect”.

I bought another set of purple and orange. One came with the little coil part for the battery broken off and missing. Another had the coil part for the battery in the battery well
Still, but it was detached. I managed to get that sorted out and fixed so it worked just fine. Just had to groove it back into the spot it belonged and had no issues out of that one. But I couldn’t do that with the one that was missing the coil so that was a wash and made the window setup

Presentation: these are long. They wrapped around my entire doorframe and all my windows very good. Like I said, they aren’t tradition size lights but they are Ferry string so I learned what ferry strings are when I got them in. Oh well. No regerts.

EASE OF USE: unpacking and undoing these things are the biggest pain, however. They can get tangled and wrapped up so easily and it took me 45 minutes one time to undo a role, and almost as long to do another layer that might. So that became very tedious and annoying when all I wanted to do was tape them up and move on.

Outdoors: no issues with them outside in the elements and cold and such. To be fair, they were in my windows, and my front porch windows and door don’t see much rain and snow hitting them so I wouldn’t put them out where they can get wet unless enclosed completely in something

I love these. I am contemplating buying some for Christmas to put out. Battery operated is the future.
