My LO refused to sleep in her crib until we tried this thing. It’s amazing. However the neck is pretty wide and she wiggles out of it

Okay! So to start, I had a preemie baby that was in the NICU before coming home.

He was VERY picky & particular about sleeping. He hated being cold & loved feeling snuggled up in warm blankets. At the same time, he absolutely hated being swaddled and having his arms held down.

My husband and I struggled with both knocking him out AND making sure he stayed out. He would sleep the longest periods of time (about 3-4 hours in between) held by one of us. We were at the point of sleeping in shifts because if we were both awake at the same time, nobody was getting any sort of sleep.

Short of simply putting him in bed with us, we were kind of at a loss. (Nothing wrong with people that safely cosleep, but this little guy is bottle fed & we already went down that path with our first & didn’t want to repeat it a second time)

Enter Magic Merlin’s sleep sack. I had heard about the “magic” and seen photos of friends baby’s wearing the puffy marshmallow suit, but I honestly always thought it was just massively hyped up.
(In retrospect, I’m a moron & maybe if I’d tried it with my first he wouldn’t have migrated into my bed)

Does it work for every baby? Not sure. Did it work for MY baby? HELL YES.
MY GOD THIS SUIT KNOCKS THIS CHILD OUT FLAT ON HIS DIAPER BOOTY IN WHAT FEELS LIKE A MILLISECOND. INSTANT 5-6 HOUR STRETCH OF SLEEP FOR A 3 MONTH OLD (if you’re a parent ((you must be if you’re reading this)), you know any sort of sleep is the most precious thing ((I mean besides our sweet little poop machines that don’t let us sleep)) )

This thing is great. No, seriously. I let him show signs of being sleepy (simple yawning/rubbing face) and I change his diaper, slip him in the sack & lay him down in the bassinet. 9/10 I can walk away and he’s already falling asleep on his own. During winter my bedroom is around 64-70 and he’s always perfectly snug, not too hot and not too cold. We sleep him in a onesie, footie pjs and socks.

Is it perfect? No, but you gotta take a hit here & there. It’s pretty thick and does take a bit to dry when you wash it. The best thing here is to have 2, if possible. Another thing to note is I feel the suit does run a little small. I have the 3-6 months size but my child is 3 months & it’s pretty tight on him (he’s about 14-15 lbs). I definitely do not see this fitting him a month from now. While the double zipper in the front is very welcome for nightly diaper changes, I do still have to pull his leg up and out of the pant leg and this usually wakes him up if he’s drowsy or sleeping—as a result, I’ve begun to do diaper changes before sleepy feeds to avoid waking him up unnecessarily.

My sons head is a little flat from sleeping on his back, so we’re encouraging tummy time during the day whenever possible. He isn’t yet rolling over, but I believe the suit must get taken away once they are rolling over or attempting to while wearing it (?)

I also do not put the suit on unless I think he’ll want to nap longer than an hour or it’s time for bed at night. I do not want to restrict his movement throughout the day so I let him do his thing then.

So far, this suit has been an absolute lifesaver. I think if used as intended, chances are you and your child will have a great time.
It has helped my little one sleep longer stretches & be comfortable & warm. I’m not certain what to expect during the summer but I will probably sleep him in a onesie and diaper with the suit over.

This thing is great, if you’re struggling with baby sleep, it’s more than worth giving a try!

We bought this for my twins. They were only two months when we first tried it so they were small enough that they could pull their feet up into it. I wasn’t able to see a difference initially but I tried it every few days to see if they had grown into it.

Once they couldn’t pull their feet up anymore, it has worked great! We can put them down awake in it with minimal fussing and they have been sleeping through the night since. We dress them only in their diapers and have the house at 70 degrees or cooler and we’ve never had a problem with them overheating.

Muy buen producto ideal para este frío!!! Recomendado para papás que no les gusta envolver a sus bebés

Our baby loves her Merlin suit. She was a NICU baby and LOVES being swaddled, but she moves so much she would come unswaddled within minutes. The second we lay her in her Merlin suit for a nap or bedtime, she immediately calms down and gets comfy. She’s able to soothe herself to sleep in it. She isn’t rolling over yet, but I’ve ordered the sleep sack so we have it when she’s ready. I HIGHLY recommend this for active babies that have trouble self-soothing or staying still in their crib. Our baby is a mover, but began rolling onto her side enough that a full swaddle wasn’t safe in case she rolled completely over. This keeps her from rolling onto her side (yet). She is 4 months old.
It could get a bit warm in the summer months, but for now we just dress her in a light tank top onesie and socks at night and keep her room cool and she’s very content. No negatives to giving this thing a try, I’d say it’s worth every penny. I wish I’d tried it earlier.

Love this sleep suit for our daughter. She transitioned out of the swaddle to this at about 13 weeks. No issues and she sleeps great in it. She was 12lbs when she started wearing it and now she’s 14lbs. I dread the day we have to switch to a sleep sac.

My baby has been a good sleeper, sleeping through the night starting at about 8 weeks. He LOVED his swaddle, and I was really dreading transitioning him out of it. I did a lot of online research and this was recommended on several websites. I’m so glad we tried it! We stopped swaddling cold turkey and had no interruption in his sleep at all.

It’s warm enough without being too warm. It’s plush without being heavy. The zippers appear to be good quality and make for easy diaper access.

This suit is amazing! My son will now not only sleep in his bassinet, but I can lay him down and he doesn’t even flinch and wake up. He sleeps so good in this suit he loves when I put him in it for sleep time. I tried one night without it and he did not sleep good at all. I put him in it for nap in the morning and he passed right out. I would highly recommend this sleep suit. It is amazing. It is easy to put baby in, it’s comfy and soft and keeps them just the right temperature. The zipper is perfect, having the two on the sides makes it easy to put him in or take him out, and they zip so smooth. This was the best choice I have made for him to get some good sleep and for me to have peace of mind.

Love this sleep suit! Only thing that I found stressful is there is no TOG rating so I would stress on how to dress my baby underneath it.

The suit on is hilarious, given how puffy it is. BUT it’s been working for naps and bedtime the last week so I’ll take it! Our boy still has the moro relfex so sleep sacks aren’t working for us right now and he’s started almost rolling so we had to stop using his velcro swaddle (even with one arm out).
I was worried about how thick/bulky the suit is with heat but he just wears a diaper under and is fine.
My only con comment that I have is that it is yet another item to transition out of, but hey, you gotta do what you gotta do and things change daily/weekly.

I love the product. It is so stinkin cute on my 3 month old! She looks like the marshmallow man from ghostbusters but pink! It fits her perfectly, she’s 14 pounds and we ordered her a small. She loved her swaddle but she is starting to roll so we were looking for something to transition her to that isn’t weighted. This is a great option! At first she was hesitant but then realized how comfy and warm it is and fell right asleep! This item held up so well in the wash- cold setting and tumbled dry extra low. Couldn’t be happier 😊
