- SHARP BLADE WITH STRONG ANVIL. Anvil pruners have one straight blade that cuts as it closes onto a flat edge or ‘anvil’ – think about it like a knife on a chopping board. This makes an anvil pruner an excellent tool for trimming back live wood before making a final, clean cut with bypass scissors. Suitable for harder and dryer wood. Replacement cutting blades available.
- COMFORT GRIP AND EXTRA LEVERAGE. This 30” model will allow you to work with some extra leverage and to efficiently navigate around higher limbs. It locks on various lengths in between. The ergonomic handles are designed for optimal grip and the anti-shock rubberized grips on the handles provide extra comfort.

After using both anvil and loppers, I find the anvil stands up to abuse better. Loppers tend to spread and become useless, but about all you can do is chip the blade on the anvil to break it. This one is quite sharp and it makes for easy cutting.

I bought this lopper to trim the height of our Ontario White Cedars. From the trunks, our cedars extend 2 feet onto our neighbor’s property. This Tabor lopper was long enough that I could trim all the way to the neighbor’s side without having to take a single step onto their property! I was also amazed at the power of the blade mechanism. I have never owned a lopper that could cut faster than a chainsaw, but this cut through all of the cedars including the ones with very thick trunks.

This tool arrived at my home one day before a major storm hit. So many trees and branches fell. It made quick work of them. Handles can expand longer when needed. Great tool.

It’s heavy duty, quite heavy. I needed it for some range branches and the length was perfect so I order it. It cuts well, still new, haven’t used that much since it’s very heavy and difficult to handle. One or two cuts later I put it down, my arms were hurting. I wish they can make one that’s good quality but not as heavy.

I’m a 63 year old woman and have no problem pruning our big trees for a couple of hours. These are super sharp, cut cleanly even big branches that I didn’t think it would, and lightweight. I clean them with alcohol then lubricate them with 3 in 1 oil and expect them to last a long time.
